Oberon Media Launches First Micro-Transaction Enabled Game with the Release of Bubble Town: Party Planet

Release Is part of Overall Company Strategy To Deliver Free To Play, Micro Transaction Enabled Game Experiences Across All Platforms

A Multi-Platform Arcade Game Phenomenon, Bubble Town: Party Planet Will Feature BubbleBucks, Allowing Players to Make In-Game Purchases Including Power Ups, Extra Level Packs, In-Game Gifting and More

New York, USA, London, UK– August 6, 2009 - Oberon Media Inc, the world's leading multi-platform casual games company, today announced a major move into the micro-transaction (MTX) space as part of its overall corporate strategy to engage in segments that deliver strong monetization for partners of its industry-leading Game Center platform. Beginning with the launch of I-play’s Bubble Town: Party Planet, the company will distribute free to play, MTX-enabled games across all its platforms including its Game Center partners, social networks, iPhone™, mobile and more. Oberon will continue to integrate new virtual economies into its most successful gaming franchises on multiple platforms, and, in the coming months, will roll out full-featured and scalable virtual commerce systems to Game Center partners.

Developed by I-play, Oberon Media’s publishing division, Bubble Town: Party Planet is an upgrade to the phenomenally successful Bubble Town Facebook application, which has been played more than 120 million times. Additionally, the online version is the most played game on MSN Games. Overall, the Bubble Town franchise has enthralled over 5 million unique players through PC download, mobile, iPhone™, iPod touch® Facebook and MySpace since it launched on PC in 2006.

Bubble Town: Party Planet, initially launching as a Facebook application, delivers an all-new MTX virtual economy called BubbleBucks. BubbleBucks is the virtual currency that will allow players to make in-game purchases on items including power ups, extra level packs, gifting and other activities such as the ability to pick up play after a level defeat. BubbleBucks can be purchased online, or earned through in-game achievements such as high scores, skillful play and inviting friends to join in on the excitement.

Beginning today, players will be able to join the Bubble Town: Party Planet Open Beta via Facebook, and be the first to experience the new features and addicting antics by signing up at http://apps.facebook.com/bubble_town_test/. For a limited time, players who join the Bubble Town: Party Planet Open Beta will receive 2,000 free BubbleBucks.

“Oberon delivers a quality gaming experience for all devices and environments, and we see huge opportunity and growth potential with MTX-enabled content. It is our goal to bring a whole new casual gaming experience to players, and a profitable platform model to our Game Center partners,” said Don Ryan, Oberon Media Chief Operating Officer. “We decided to enter this category with Bubble Town: Party Planet because Bubble Town™ is I-play’s most successful online franchise. The new version will entice both new and old fans of the series as it brings the experience to an even higher level.”

Bubble Town™ is the arcade-style puzzle game that will test wits, as well as reflexes. Players join the unforgettable cast of characters for an adventure of bubble-popping proportions in both Journey Mode and Arcade Mode. The fun and addicting gameplay makes Bubble Town™ one of the most successful online games ever created, and the #1 most played online game on MSN Games.
